Home energy assessment
A home energy audit investigates comfort and efficiency concerns using the agreed inspections and tests. It can support improvement priorities, but it does not automatically provide a HERS Index score or certify compliance with a particular program.
Blower door testing and thermal imaging
A blower door measures building air leakage under test conditions. Thermal imaging shows surface-temperature patterns that require interpretation. The tools can complement each other, but imaging alone does not measure whole-home leakage or prove a concealed defect.
HERS ratings and program verification
A HERS rating evaluates a home through a defined modeling and verification process. ENERGY STAR certification has separate program requirements. Tell us the exact documentation you need and the stage of construction so the appropriate inspections can be planned.
HVAC calculations and duct leakage testing
Manual J addresses heating and cooling loads, Manual S equipment selection and Manual D duct design. Duct leakage testing measures leakage in the distribution system. A leakage result does not determine the capacity of the HVAC equipment.

Does an assessment guarantee an incentive?
An audit does not guarantee a tax credit. Federal 25C credits are unavailable for property placed in service after December 31, 2025; 45L is unavailable for qualified new homes acquired after June 30, 2026. Ask a tax professional about historical eligibility and confirm current utility incentives with your provider.
