Home Energy Audits

High energy bills, cold rooms and summer hot spots can have more than one cause. Central Energy Audits evaluates how air leakage, insulation and HVAC performance interact in Kansas City homes, so you can plan improvements around measured findings.

What a home energy audit includes

We agree on the testing scope before the visit. Depending on your home and goals, the assessment can include blower door testing, infrared imaging, and inspection of accessible attic and crawl-space insulation. Tell us about drafts, recent renovations, moisture concerns and rooms that are difficult to heat or cool.

A blower door measures air leakage under controlled pressure. An infrared camera shows surface-temperature patterns that help locate areas needing closer inspection. Neither test alone explains every comfort problem, so findings are considered alongside the condition of the building.

Your report and next steps

The report explains the findings and recommended improvements, such as air sealing, insulation repairs or further HVAC evaluation. Use it to discuss priorities and scope with your contractor. Testing identifies issues; it does not itself repair the home or guarantee a particular reduction in utility bills.

Prepare for your visit

Have recent energy bills and a short list of comfort concerns available. Tell us about additions, previous insulation work and known access limitations. Confirm access to the attic, crawl space and equipment with our team before the appointment; follow any testing instructions we provide.

Choose the right service

Explore blower door testing for air leakage, thermal imaging inspections for temperature patterns, or HVAC system evaluations for equipment and airflow concerns. For a new construction project, ask about HERS ratings and HVAC load calculations.

Contact our team with your property location, approximate size and goals for a project-specific quote. If you plan to use a utility incentive, confirm eligibility and any preapproval requirements with the program administrator before starting work.
